6 days post hurricane Lowell…

We are in a lot of action here, navigating conservation on water and power, being cautious about where we drive so the repair in need can take place. And, get back to school and work this week with a 1 day at a time energy…

As I caught my breath on one of my favorite beaches to see how it handled on our way back from helping some freinds I recorded a video on the go….

If YOU too love Kauai and feel called to give in any small or large way here are some personal friends of mine in big need …

This is for Mindy one of my very first girlfreinds here on Kauai. She welcomed us all with pure Aloha. She hosted Naila’s baby shower which was a suprize! organized by local and my dear friend Kim who was visiting us with her family.

She lost her locally and visitor BELOVED Shave Ice and shack Hut that sat right in front of my girls favorite place to surf, Pk’s newr the The Beachhouse Resturant and directly in front of Lawai Beach Resort.

This is my dear friend Michelle and her family. She is the family we helped I mentioned in the video. If you ever saw any photo of me and my girls when I was single, it was shot by Michelle. Her daughter Talia, used to baby sit Daysha. Her family have lived here, for decades just like my friend Mindy. Had and raised their babies here, and had created her solid home that had survivd Iniki! Not this time. The river water came up over 5 ft and destoyed their downstrains and all their land and belongings.

❤️ My main message :: If you don’t wanna listen to the whole 12 minutes of my ramble ….

…. is please be ready for natural disasters Wherever you are in the world. Be ready at any drop of a hat to lose power, water, Cell, service, and Internet. Be ready to be able to take care of you and yours.

❤️ You might have to flee your house. You might lose your house. You might lose your Business.

❤️ Due to the state of climate and our World. I think it’s best that we’re all ready for national disaster.

At any moment.

❤️ I’m not trying to install fear or dread. I just want you to be prepared to have the very basics we only need : shelter, food, water & each other

❤️ This is absolutely a giant wake up Call for the things that we could’ve done better in my own home.

❤️❤️ In addition, you really wanna be able to help other people as much as you can when your friends are hurting and have lost business or jobs or income.

If you survive, you’re gonna wanna help others so you could think about it that way too.

❤️✨Most of all it is a big lovefest here full of Aloha.
Everybody’s stopping at every point to check on each other. I know more neighbors than I’ve ever known and I’ve seen & experienced love that Reminds me of being in Los Angeles during 9/11. Surviving through the North Ridge earthquake in the early 90s in Los Angeles and times of giant storms in Cambria California when we had to sleep under the biggest beam in the house in case of tree hit her house.

Be prepared. Be ready. Take care of each other. ❤️‍🩹✨
